remarques: | it is the second video game of the Phantasy Star saga after the original Phantasy Star for the Master System and innovated thanks to its sprawling environments, graphical improvements and its strong character driven story the player has the command for a party of up to four characters, each one with a different set of weapons, techniques and healing practices out of a total of eight playable characters being: - the hero Rolf = primary character with a wide range of equipment and techniques - Nei a woman character, quite interesting but she will disappear in the middle of the game, her weapons are bars (claws) - Rudo a strong warrior with armor and weapon but without techniques, he mainly wields guns as weapons (biggest gun = Neishot) - Amy Sage a woman healer, slow to attack but possesses the highest levels of healing and reactivating other characters - Hugh the biologist, strong to attack bio monsters with good techniques, he usually wields knives - Anna Zirski, a woman hunter and guardian, one of the most physically strong fighter but only with few techniques, however her slashers (whips and/or boomerangs) are quite offensive - Kain, the wrecker, quite strong against robotic enemies and electronic machines, balanced fighter using mostly guns - Shir Gold, called "Shir of the wind" the woman thief with quite peculiar techniques, she is the fastest character in the game and can steal various items in shops and/or luggage rooms, using knives and other such weapons >> despite this quality, the game is rather boring, the development of the game depending of the levelling up of the characters, the only point of interest is to find your way through the various enormous labyrinths and mazes while endlessly fighting the practically same enemies which will increase in strength during the progess of the game; in that connection, Phantasy Star IV is much better |
